What to Sort Out Before Move Day

Check your building’s rules early, because they’re the most common cause of a delayed move. Many complexes restrict move-in and move-out to weekday business hours, limit how long a truck can stand in the loading zone, or require paperwork from the moving company before a crew is admitted. Ask your property manager what they need and send it to us, and we’ll tell you what we can provide.

Two things we’d ask you to handle in advance: disconnect your washer and dryer if the unit has them, since we move appliances but don’t connect or disconnect them, and take televisions off their wall mounts if you can – we don’t re-mount them. We also can’t transport flammables, fuels, aerosols, paint, pool chemicals, ammunition, or perishable food.

Booking Your Apartment Move

We ask for at least 48 hours’ notice and recommend booking two weeks ahead. If you’re moving at the end of the month or over the summer, book earlier – those are the busiest windows in the whole market, and student turnover fills them fast. We can add you to our cancellation list if you’re hoping for a sooner date.

Crews arrive in a morning window of 8–9 am or an afternoon window of 12–4 pm. Your $100 deposit holds the date and is applied to your final bill; deposits are non-refundable, and a cancellation fee applies if you cancel within 72 hours of the move. Your crew chief walks you through the itemized Bill of Lading at the end.

Apartment Moving Questions

No stair fee. Labor is hourly, so a third-floor walk-up takes longer than a ground-floor unit and that shows up as time rather than a surcharge. It's why we ask what floor you're on when you request an estimate - a mover who doesn't ask is guessing.

Very common, and it's the most frequent cause of a delayed move. Many complexes limit moves to weekday business hours, cap how long a truck can sit in the loading zone, or require paperwork before a crew is admitted. Ask your property manager what they need, send it to us, and we'll tell you what we can provide.

There's a two-hour minimum on all labor, plus a flat truck fee, set by where you're moving and confirmed with your estimate. For a small apartment the minimum is often close to the whole job.

Usually with partial disassembly. Narrow stairwells, awkward landings and doorframes with no clearance to spare are routine in older Louisville buildings, and the answer is almost always taking the piece apart rather than forcing it. Where the banister is the obstacle, we remove it and put it back.

Yes, at no additional fee. Beds come apart and go back together the same day. Mattresses and box springs go into mattress bags so they aren't dragged through a stairwell, and flat-screen televisions get wrapped.

At least 48 hours, and two weeks is better. Book earlier if you're moving at the end of the month or over the summer - those are the busiest windows in the market, and student turnover fills them fast. We keep a cancellation list if you're hoping for a sooner date.
